Former Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot was released earlier this week during free agency. In 2022 Elliot rushed the ball 231 times and totaled 876 yards in 15 games while scoring 12 touchdowns. There are a few teams that should be exploring the idea of adding the former pro bowl RB. Below are three franchises that should go after Elliot.
Buffalo Bills- Last season the Bills ranked 15th in rushing attempts, 7th in rushing yards, and 15th in rushing touchdowns. Adding Zeke could help the Bills finally get over the playoff hump if they were to sign the former Dallas Cowboys RB. The only running backs on the Bills roster are second-year RB James Cook & Nyheim Hines. It is a no-brainer for the Bills to make this move.
Philadelphia Eagles- What a story it would be if the Eagles were to sign Elliot and stay in the NFC East to play against the Cowboys twice a year. Last year Philly ranked 1st in rushing touchdowns, 5th in rushing yards, and 3rd in rushing attempts. The Eagles would not miss a beat in the running game if they decided to sign Zeke, This past week the Eagles signed free agent RB Rashaad Penny. Adding a player like Elliot would a sure the Eagles could duplicate last year’s success.
Miami Dolphins- The Dolphins finished with a 9-8 record last season finishing in 2nd place in the AFC East. If there is any team that desperately needs a proven running back it is the Miami Dolphins. Last season the Dolphins ranked 31st in rushing attempts, 25th in rushing yards, and 22nd in rushing touchdowns. If Miami is serious and wants to contend go sign Zeke now, what are you waiting for?
We should find out where Zeke lands soon hopefully, but it seems that these three teams would be the best-case scenario for the former Cowboys running back.
