LSU Football Players Earn an Opportunity to Show Off at the 2022 NFL Combine

On Wednesday morning, the NFL published its list of combine invitees for the 2022 NFL Combine. The list includes 324 prospects from 106 different schools, 9 of which are from Louisiana State University.

LSU’s 9 invitees include: LB Damone Clark, RB Ty Davis-Price, OL Austin Deculus, DL Neil Farrell, DB Cordale Flott, OL Chasen Hines, OL Ed Ingram, DB Derek Stingley Jr., and K Cade York.

LSU is tied with Texas A&M for the third most players invited to the Combine in the SEC, behind Georgia (14) and Alabama (11).

A few of these athletes have already begun to display their skills for NFL teams beyond what they accomplished on Saturdays during the college football season. Clark, Farrell, Hines, and Ingram took the field last week for the annual Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. After their week concluded, Clark, Farrell, and Ingram were named the American team’s top LB, DL, and OL, respectively. Hines was a late addition to the National team but still managed to put together a great week in Mobile.

While the NFL Combine is an important opportunity for all prospects, Derek Stingley Jr. will be looking to prove to teams why he should be a high-end draft pick come April 28. Stingley bursted onto the college football scene with a true freshman campaign in 2019 that earned him consensus All-American honors. Despite this great season, Stingley’s coverage skills in 2020 appeared to be less effective. Stingley’s 2021 season was cut short after the re-aggravation of a foot injury forced him into season-ending surgery after only three games. While Stingley is still considered a top-tier prospect in this draft class, the combine could provide him with an opportunity to cement that designation.

Fans can tune in to watch the combine on NFL Network when it begins on March 1.
