The New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame was founded in 1987, and almost every year since then (excluding 2005) at least one inductee to be immortalized in Saints’ history. On Wednesday morning, the team announced their 2019 hall of fame class.

Former wide receiver Marques Colston and running back Reggie Bush were announced as the latest members of this prestigious club. Several events regarding this hall of fame class will take place during the weekend of October 25-27, which corresponds with the team’s week 8 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals.

During their time with the Saints, both Colston and Bush were fan-favorites. They both entered the league in the 2006 NFL Draft as the Saints selected Bush with their first-round selection and then selected Colston near the end of the seventh round. This was also the first draft class under current head coach Sean Payton.

Throughout his five years with the Saints, Bush accumulated 2,090 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns. However, he was even more explosive through the air as he hauled in 294 receptions for 2,142 yards and 12 touchdowns. Bush’s stats rank him 12th all-time in franchise rushing yards, and 13th in franchise rushing touchdowns.

Colston spent ten years with the Saints and made the most of every opportunity. Colston caught 711 passes for 9,759 yards and 72 touchdowns. Colston leads the franchise in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns.

Colston and Bush were both apart of the Saints historic Super Bowl run during the 2009 season. They both played pivotal roles in one of the most explosive offenses in the league. Now that they will both be enshrined in the Saints’ Hall of Fame, their greatness can be recognized by future generations of Saints’ fans who were unable to watch them dominate on the field.
