On Wednesday morning, sources announced that kicker Wil Lutz has re-signed with the New Orleans Saints.
Josh Katzenstein, senior reporter for The Times-Picayune broke the news on Twitter:
The contract is a five-year deal with compensation yet to be announced.
The new contract is certainly warranted as Lutz enjoyed the most accurate season by a kicker in franchise history, connecting on 28 out of 30 field goal attempts for an astounding 93.3%. Lutz also converted 52 out of 53 extra point attempts which translates to 98.1%.
Having a reliable kicker like Lutz is crucial for the New Orleans Saints as he has proven time and time again that kickers are people too.
