The  All-Pro teams were announced on Friday morning, and there is no shortage of representation from the Who Dat nation. The New Orleans Saints have five players selected for this honor. However, only one of those players were listed as a first-team All-Pro.

After a phenomenal third season in the NFL, Saints’ wide receiver Michael Thomas was selected to the AP All-Pro first-team. Throughout his productive season, Thomas hauled in 125 catches for a franchise record 1,405 yards and nine touchdowns. Perhaps the most astonishing statistic from Thomas’ great year is his 85.03% catch rate which was a league-leading number among wide receivers in 2018.

Saints’ quarterback Drew Brees found himself placed on the AP All-Pro second team as Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes won the first-team honor in a landslide vote. Because these same voters choose the league’s MVP, many people believe this is a strong indication that Mahomes will similarly win that award.

Joining Brees on the second team All-Pro roster were offensive tackles Terron Armstead and Ryan Ramczyk. Both of these players make their All-Pro debut this year. Armstead also earned a Pro Bowl distinction while Ramczyk did not, much to the disbelief of Saints fans.

To round out the Saints All-Pro players, defensive end Cameron Jordan earned a spot on the second team. Jordan was a menace this season as he amassed 12 sacks, 21 quarterback hits, and 18 tackles for loss. Jordan also added a forced fumble and a fumble recovery to his spectacular 2018 season. This is Jordan’s second All-Pro distinction as he earned first-team honors last season.

The Saints have put on a spectacular show this season as they marched their way towards the NFC’s number one seed. The team will look to keep up their stellar play when they play in the Divisional round of the playoffs on January 13.
